October 20, 2025 — The Varysburg Volunteer Fire Department held a joint training drill Monday evening on Dunham Road, focusing on pumping, water supply, and tanker operations.
The department expressed appreciation to the Attica Fire Department, North Java Fire Company, Sheldon Fire Company, and the Warsaw Fire Department and Rescue Squad for providing water support during the exercise. Special thanks were also extended to the Harris Corners Fire Department for standing by at the station to ensure continued coverage.
Varysburg firefighters used the opportunity to refresh critical operational skills and strengthen coordination among neighboring departments. The department also thanked Eric Hibsch for allowing the use of the training area and the local community for their patience during the drill.
“These joint trainings are essential for maintaining readiness and teamwork,” the department said, emphasizing the value of collaboration across county fire services.
