October 9, 2025 — The Warsaw Fire Department visited the Warsaw Central School District on Thursday to provide hands-on fire prevention and safety training for students in grades 6 through 8.
During the interactive sessions, students learned how to properly use a fire extinguisher, explored the department’s extrication tools used to assist trapped individuals in vehicle accidents, and were introduced to the medical equipment carried by EMTs on the ambulance. Firefighters also demonstrated the roles of the department’s UTV and brush truck in emergency operations.
The department expressed appreciation to the Warsaw Central School District for the opportunity to engage with students, and gave special thanks to Mr. Winchip and Mr. Clifford for participating in the extinguisher training.
In addition, the department encouraged local youth to join its Junior Firefighter Program, open to individuals ages 14 to 16, offering a chance to learn essential emergency response skills and serve the community.
