Munhall, Pa.—October 6, 2025— Shortly before Monday today, the Munhall Volunteer Fire Company #4 responded to a second-alarm fire in a high-rise building in the City of McKeesport. The call began when 203 Rescue deployed with three personnel to support suppression and search efforts in the multi-story structure.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the fire was in a trash chute and observed that the high-rise was heavily smoky on several floors. Reports indicate that smoke spread through the chute and automatic fire alarms created a difficult atmosphere throughout the building.

While conducting a search of the building’s eighth floor, rescue crews were advised by dispatch that an occupant was trapped in their room on that floor. The 203 RQ crew located the individual, removed them safely from the room and continued the systematic search of the structure.
