Departments Strengthen Readiness Through Late-Night Training

Etna, Pa.—October 3— Starting at 6 p.m. and continuing into the early hours of Saturday, the Etna Fire Department, Southern Allegheny Valley Emergency Services, and a Fox Chapel VFD member engaged in a nighttime live-burn exercise.
In addition to strengthening hose advancement, interior search, and ventilation skills, the training addressed the additional difficulties of overnight operations, such as poor visibility, exhaustion, and managing lighting. The lesson, which was led by an instructor, focused on safety and teamwork in authentic fire
