October 12, 2025 - On Sunday, members of the Litchfield Fire Department took a stroll through their district to review special considerations for responding to chimney fires. With colder weather approaching, the department focused on understanding the various types of chimneys, grades of roofing, and available local water sources.
A key takeaway from the session highlighted that much of the Northville district lacks access to fire hydrants—meaning firefighters often rely on natural water sources or draft from wells during operations.
