Busy Day for Bantam Fire Company: Multiple Calls and Rescue Operations Handled

Bantam, CT - 07 October 2025 proved to be a busy day for the Bantam Fire Company (BFC). In addition to ongoing fire prevention activities, members responded to multiple calls for service throughout the day.


Engine 36, Ambulance 37, Rescue 38, and Litchfield Fire Department Unit 6 were dispatched to assist a female injured on a ledge with a twisted ankle. Crews utilized a stokes basket and a 3:1 haul system to safely remove the patient, who was then transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital by Ambulance 37 and Northwest Medic 1.


Later in the day, Utility 32, Marine 2, and Rescue 38 responded to Watertown to assist the Region 5 Dive Team in an evidence search at Lake Winnemaug.


BFC members also handled a crash notification and two additional ambulance calls during the busy shift.
