On Friday, October 25th 2024, at approximately 5:40 P.M., The Sayville Fire Department was activated for a reported commercial structure fire at 25 Main Street. The first arriving chief encountered a heavy fire condition pushing from different store fronts and transmitted a working fire. Sayville apparatus arrived quickly and started stretching lines for fire suppression. Ladder trucks were put into operation to knock down a majority of the fire. Mutual aid was provided by East Islip Fire Department, Islip Terrace Fire Department, Bohemia Fire Department, Bayport Fire Department, Holbrook Fire Department, Blue Point Fire Department, North Patchogue Fire Department, and Patchogue Fire Department. All units operated under the command of Sayville Fire Department Chief of Department Craig Fazio. No injuries were reported. The fire is currently under investigation.
