Chambersburg, Pa. — October 12, 2025 — The Franklin Fire Company handled two overnight apartment fires in Chambersburg, only hours apart.

Around 9 p.m., crews were dispatched to Lincoln Way West and Garber Street for an apartment building fire with possible entrapment. Duty 44 arrived with fire showing from the third floor of a three-story wood-frame structure. Squad 41 conducted searches while Truck 42 accessed the rear. The fire was contained to a doorway, and all searches were negative.

At 6:30 a.m., units were again dispatched to North Franklin Street and Carson Lane for a second apartment fire. Crews found fire showing from the attic of a two-story building. Searches were negative, and the fire is believed to have been caused by an E-bike battery malfunction. No injuries were reported.
