TEANECK, NJ - Quick work by Teaneck firefighters kept a bedroom fire from extending and causing additional damage on October 25th.

At about 11:40 P.M., units were dispatched to 1224 Sussex Road for a report of flames showing in a window on the second floor. The Battalion Chief arrived and confirmed a working fire and transmitted the second-alarm, bringing Hackensack and Englewood to the scene and others to cover the empty firehouses. A line was stretched through the front door as searches were made and windows vented.

The fire was located and quickly knocked down. Members opened up and vented. No extension was located and the fire was soon under control. The TFD Fire Investigating Team is determining the cause. No injuries were reported.
