Finderne Fire Department Responds to Working Fire in Somerville

October 22, 2025 — At approximately 4:31 p.m., the Finderne Fire Department was dispatched to assist the Somerville Fire Department with a working building fire in Somerville Borough.
Responding units included Chief 30, Deputy 30, Assistant 30, Engine 302, and Tower 30. Upon arrival, Engine 302’s crew stretched a handline through the front of the structure to attack the fire, while Tower 30’s crew ascended to the roof to perform ventilation operations, releasing smoke and heat to improve interior conditions for firefighters.
Before being released from the scene, Finderne crews also handled a gas leak within the borough to support Somerville firefighters still engaged in overhaul and final suppression activities at the original fire scene.
The coordinated response showcased seamless teamwork between Finderne and Somerville firefighters, ensuring both incidents were safely and efficiently mitigated.
