October 20, 2025 — The McAfee Fire Department held its monthly four-company drill last night, focusing on high-rise hose deployment and simulating a hotel room fire scenario.
The hands-on training allowed firefighters to practice rapid hose advancement techniques in confined environments, simulating conditions often found in hotels, apartment complexes, and multi-story structures. These drills enhance coordination, communication, and efficiency among crews operating under pressure.
The department extended its gratitude to the Minerals Hotel for graciously hosting the training and providing food for the crews following the exercise. Their continued support helps firefighters maintain operational readiness and strengthen community partnerships.
Such collaborative training opportunities ensure that firefighters remain well-prepared to respond effectively to emergencies in high-occupancy and complex structures.
