Sadsbury, PA - On Saturday, October 18th, at approximately 5:24 p.m., the Sadsburyville Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Modena Fire Company with a working house fire in the 1600 block of Goosetown Road, East Fallowfield Township.

Rescue 31 and its crew responded within minutes of the dispatch. Initial reports indicated that no one was home at the time of the fire, but multiple animals were inside the residence. Upon arrival, firefighters from Sadsburyville assisted in rescuing and removing four large dogs from the home and immediately began lifesaving efforts on several of them. The rescued animals were quickly transported by available vehicles on scene to the nearest animal hospital for urgent care.

Due to the lack of hydrants in the area, a tanker task force was requested to supply additional water. Once the fire was brought under control, command began scaling back the operation and releasing some of the apparatus from the scene.

As of this report, the condition of most of the pets remains unknown. The Sadsburyville Fire Company extends its thoughts and prayers to the affected family during this difficult time.
