Dover Firefighters Battle Hay Barn Blaze

Dover Township, Pa. — September 24 — At 1:41 p.m., Dover Township Fire Department crews responded to the 4000 block of West Canal Road for a barn fire. Engine 9-1, Engine 9-2, and Tanker 9 arrived to find a fully involved hay barn threatening nearby exposures.
Multiple hand lines and ground monitors were deployed to contain the fire, with mutual-aid companies assisting in water supply and fire attack. Deputy Chief 9 held command, and no injuries were reported.
Due to the volume of hay, the fire was expected to burn into the evening and following days, with the property owner and fire department monitoring for containment.
