Bridgeton Firefighters Honored with PFANJ Non-Fire Valor Award for 2024
Bridgeton, NJ - The Bridgeton Fire Officers Association (IAFF Local 5503) proudly announced that Battalion Chief John Schaffer and Captain Josh Wymbs, along with Firefighter Britton Everly of the Bridgeton Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4822, have been awarded the prestigious PFANJ Non-Fire Valor Award for 2024.
The recognition honors their heroic actions on June 4, 2024, when they successfully rescued a person in distress from the Cohansey River. This particular incident was selected from among numerous submissions from across the PFANJ and the State of New Jersey.
Though these firefighters are known for their humility and commitment to service rather than recognition, their bravery and professionalism deserve acknowledgment. This award marks a significant moment for the honorees and their families and reflects the outstanding dedication they bring to the community.
The Bridgeton Fire Department extends its gratitude to all fire and EMS personnel for their continued dedication and exceptional service to the citizens and visitors of Bridgeton City. Their tireless efforts do not go unnoticed.
