West Newton, Pa. — October 20 — The West Newton Volunteer Fire Company has received a major equipment boost with the addition of a cascade system donated by the East Whiteland Fire Company through the Terry Ferrell Firefighters Fund. This system, which will be used for refilling self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) cylinders, enhances the department’s operational readiness and ability to sustain extended fireground operations. The donation also supports West Newton’s goal of improving its self-sufficiency during large-scale or long-duration incidents.
