On October 21st, 2025, at approximately 1556 hours, the Linden Fire Department was dispatched to the area of 1930 E. Elizabeth Ave for a reported structure fire. As units were responding, they confirmed a fire and a column of smoke in the air. Upon the arrival of Deputy 2, he stated he had a working fire and transmitted a 2nd alarm and had mutual aid to the scene. Engine 3 arrived first due. Engine 4 laid a line off Park Ave and fed ladder 1. As of this time, multiple 2.5” attack lines, 2 water supplies, and feeder lines were stretched and are operating. At 1607, crews stated they had water on the fire. Ladder 1 completed primary searches and cut vent holes in the roof. Ladder 1 had tar bubbling on the roof, smoke pushing from the roof, and heat on the TIC. There was no extension inside the structure, but heavy smoke. After operating the interior, crews reported the roof inside was starting to sponge, and multiple other hazards were inside the structure. Command ordered all units to evacuate, and crews went defensive. Command placed the fire under control at approximately 1652.
