Alpha Firefighters Free Trapped Driver in University Drive Crash

State College, Pa. — October 19 — Just before 4 a.m. Sunday, the Alpha Fire Company was dispatched to the 1200 block of University Drive for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment.
Chief 5-2 arrived and confirmed one person trapped. Engine 5-1 and Rescue 5, staffed with 13 firefighters, stabilized the vehicle and quickly extricated the occupant. The patient was transported from the scene and later flown to UPMC Williamsport for treatment.
