Gettysburg, Pa. — October 7 — The Gettysburg Fire Department visited Bright Horizons / Gettysburg’s Growing Place this morning as part of local Fire Prevention Week activities. Firefighters met with young students and staff to share basic fire safety tips, show firefighting gear, and provide a close-up look at the fire engine.

The visit helped familiarize children with firefighters and their equipment, easing fear and building trust during early safety education. The department thanked the school for its hospitality and emphasized the importance of continued community outreach to promote early fire safety awareness.
