East Brandywine, PA - In the afternoon of 23 September at 4:48 PM, East Brandywine Fire Company (EBFC) units, along with EMS from Westwood and West Brandywine Police, were dispatched to the intersection of N Manor Rd and Germany Hollow Rd for an auto accident involving injuries. Assistant 49, Ladder 49, and Utility 49-1 responded, accompanied by MICU 244-1 and Ambulance 89.
Upon arrival, Assistant 49, alongside West Brandywine Police, found a two-vehicle head-on collision with injuries. Assistant 49 and Ladder 49 provided traffic control at the scene, while Utility 49-1 closed Route 82 at Route 322.
After EMS transported the injured parties to the hospital, fire crews placed cones across the roadway to block traffic while Fling’s Towing Inc. removed the vehicles. As EBFC units were beginning to clear the scene, a medical call was dispatched in their first-due area.
Units responded directly and determined it was a false alarm from a medical pendant, allowing crews to quickly clear and return to the station.
