Berwyn, PA - Between Friday at 12:33 a.m. and Saturday at 5:15 p.m., the Berwyn Fire Company responded to 17 fire and EMS calls, marking an especially active period for the department.

In addition to emergency responses, EMS personnel provided a standby presence during the Conestoga High School football game on Friday night, and fire/EMS crews took part in the Tredyffrin Township Community Day at Wilson Farm Park on Saturday.

Among the incidents handled, Berwyn crews responded to three motor vehicle collisions on Route 202 — one overnight crash in assistance to the East Whiteland Fire Company, and two separate accidents within 30 minutes of each other in Tredyffrin Township.

Late Friday night, Paoli Fire Company assisted Berwyn with Tower 3 at a chimney fire at the Residence Inn by Marriott on the 600 block of W. Swedesford Road, also in Tredyffrin Township. The crew of Berwyn Engine 102 worked to remove smoke from a first-floor unit, while Paoli firefighters checked the second floor and chimney stack.

Throughout the series of incidents, the Tredyffrin Township Police Department and Easttown Township Police Department provided valuable assistance to emergency crews.
