Rochester, Pa. — October 13 —Three incidents were handled by the Rochester Fire Department on Monday, demonstrating the variety of calls that local crews respond to in a single shift. As they responded to a deadly apartment fire in Mount Union, Truck 35 initially stood by for Huntingdon Regional Fire & Rescue. Later, after being determined to be a furnace problem, the reported dwelling fire on Six Mile Run Road was downgraded, and crews were sent to the scene.

That evening, Company 35 assisted Company 36 at a Main Street house fire in Six Mile Run. Truck 35 set up on the address side for possible roof work, while Tanker 35 accessed the rear to deploy an attack line. Fire Police handled traffic, and Blair County Company 80 provided additional support. Crews completed overhaul and returned to service around 4 a.m. Strong teamwork by all companies helped contain the incident and ensure safety for those affected.
