Rochester, Pa. — October 7 —  The Rochester Volunteer Fire Department visited Rochester Elementary School students to conclude their involvement in this year's Fire Prevention Week on Tuesday. Throughout the day, the crews discussed with the kids a number of important fire safety precautions, such as making sure smoke alarms are set up and tested, keeping bedroom doors closed while you sleep, having a plan for evacuation that includes two exits and a location for the family to gather, and taking care of electronics and lithium-ion batteries.
