Fire Police Maintain Safety During Downed Wire Incident

Whiting, N.J. — October 4 — Fire Police members from the Whiting Fire Company Station 33 responded with Utility Units 3327 and 3337 to a downed wires incident at Cherry Street and Lacey Road. Crews operated for about two and a half hours, managing traffic and ensuring the safety of passing motorists and utility workers while the hazard was addressed.

The department’s Fire Police Unit regularly assists with traffic control, crash scenes, and public safety operations. This all-volunteer team plays a key role in maintaining scene safety and smooth operations during incidents, saving taxpayer resources while supporting first responders.
