October 8, 2025 — The Neptune City Fire Department recently responded as part of a mutual aid automatic box alarm with their longtime partners at the Avon Fire Department.
The Automatic Box Alarm (“Auto Box”) system was recently implemented by Avon Fire Department on all reported fire assignments. This proactive dispatch protocol automatically calls for mutual aid companies without waiting for a fire chief’s request, reducing response time and ensuring immediate support.
Previous day's quick and coordinated response to a reported fire in a school demonstrated the effectiveness of this new system. The streamlined process allowed multiple departments to arrive on scene faster, enhancing safety and efficiency.
The Neptune City Fire Department expressed pride in being part of this progressive countywide initiative, which strengthens mutual aid cooperation and benefits the entire Monmouth County community.
