October 15, 2025 — The Fair Haven Fire Company is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Thomas “Tom” Dorick, a 64-year member, Life Member, and 1983 Captain of the Fire Police.
Throughout his six decades of service, Tom dedicated countless hours to the department — responding to emergencies, volunteering at the Fair, and joining in the department’s softball and mud football games. Beyond his contributions to the fire company, Tom was also a professional radio broadcaster, known for his distinctive voice and passion for storytelling.
Tom’s voice lives on through the department’s 100th Anniversary video, where he and town historian Tim McMahon narrate the history of Fair Haven and its fire service — a fitting tribute to a man whose commitment and love for the community never wavered.
“Tom embodied what it means to be a lifelong volunteer and community member,” the department shared. “His voice and his heart will remain part of Fair Haven’s legacy forever.”
