MADISON, N.J. — May 17th — As part of a second-alarm assignment for a residential structure fire, firefighters from Department Morristown FMBA 43 arrived in Madison. Along with many Morris County fire departments, Morristown Ladder 1 and the deputy chief of the department supported the firefighters working at the incident. According to officials, the response was a component of the county's well-established mutual help system, which offers extra personnel and specialized equipment in the event of more serious catastrophes.
During suppression efforts, ladder companies were utilized for access, ventilation, and fire extension checks. At 161 Speedwell Ave. in Morristown, Department Morristown FMBA 43 frequently responds to nearby towns in the area during working fires and other emergencies.
