October 3, 2025 — Members of the Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company and the Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company came together Friday evening to participate in the annual Egg Harbor Township Youth Organization Bonfire.

The event, held in honor of former Cardiff Fire Chief Gil Zonge, drew a large crowd for an evening of community spirit and remembrance. Chief Zonge was not only a respected leader within the fire service but also a dedicated youth football coach who devoted countless hours to mentoring local athletes and supporting township programs.

“It was a great night for a bonfire and a wonderful way to honor Chief Zonge’s lasting impact on our community,” said one attending firefighter.

Firefighters remained on hand to ensure the safety of all participants throughout the event. The Cardiff and Bargaintown departments extended their best wishes to all Egg Harbor Township football teams for a successful season.
