At approximately 0522 hours on November 20, 2025, the Camden County Fire Alarm Room, after receiving multiple calls reporting smoke and fire with possible entrapment, transmitted a box for the Haddonfield Fire Department and automatic aid companies for the report of an apartment fire at the Haddonfield Commons located at 400 North Haddon Avenue. Haddonfield FD Engine 14 was first to arrive with smoke showing. Westmont Fire Chief, Dan Devitt (Chief 15) arrived almost simultaneously, amended the report to include fire showing from Division C, and requested the All Hands signal. Haddonfield Battalion 14, Jason Kolbe, arrived, assumed command, and ordered the All Hands signal transmitted which would bring in additional resources. The Haddonfield Engine Company crew stretched a line to the rear of the building and made a quick hit on the fire to stop the rapid fire spread before repositioning the hose line to the interior for the fire attack. Haddonfield Assistant Chief Bob Henry arrived and assumed command. At approximately the ten minute mark, a special call was made for additional units to respond and ultimately the second alarm was rounded out. As companies from Cherry Hill, Collingswood, Westmont and Pennsauken assisted the Haddonfield crews with stretching additional lines, performing searches of the fire apartment and exposures, checking for fire extension and performing overhaul, other crews from Audubon and Bellmawr raised their aerials to the roof. Crews from Haddon Heights, Magnolia, and Somerdale also assisted with the tactical objectives as the building construction and layout of the apartments added additional considerations and staffing requirements. Haddonfield Fire Chief, Patrick Gorman (Chief 14) arrived and assisted the command staff with managing the incident. The fire was placed under control at 0551 hours. Several residents are displaced from adjacent apartments. There were no injuries reported and the fire is under investigation.
