Sussex Fire Department Earns Top Honors at County Parade

Oct. 4, 2025 — It was a perfect day for a parade as the Sussex Fire Department joined fellow departments at the 105th Sussex County Firemen’s Association Inspection Day and Parade, hosted by the Montague Volunteer Fire Department.
The event drew departments from across the region to celebrate community pride, dedication, and fire service tradition. Sussex Fire Department’s hard work and preparation paid off, earning them two awards:
- 2nd Place – Best Appearing Horse or Hand-Drawn Antique
- 1st Place – Best Appearing Auxiliary
The department congratulated all participating agencies for their outstanding efforts and extended a special thank-you to Montague Volunteer Fire Department for hosting a well-organized and memorable celebration.
“It was a beautiful day for a parade,” the department shared. “Congratulations to all the departments for their accomplishments and to Montague Fire for a job well done!”
