Oct. 10, 2025 — The Vernon Township Fire Department spent a rewarding day at Cedar Mountain School, where firefighters met with students to share important lessons on fire safety and prevention.

Fifteen members of the department participated, giving students a close look at firefighting equipment, trucks, and the vital role firefighters play in the community. The event focused on teaching children how to stay safe in emergencies and what to do in case of a fire at home or school.

“It was a wonderful day for our firefighters,” the department said. “We were thrilled to spend time with our young friends and help them learn more about what we do and how to stay safe.”

The event was part of the department’s ongoing commitment to community education during Fire Prevention Month.
