Members of Springfield FMBA Local 57 took part in Water Rescue Awareness training October first week, led by Rescue Products International, Inc. The program focused on ensuring firefighters are fully prepared to respond safely and effectively to flash floods or other water-related emergencies that could occur within their jurisdictions.

Joining Springfield’s firefighters for the training were members of Summit Firefighters – FMBA Local 54, Millburn Professional Firefighters – FMBA Local 32, and the Springfield Police Benevolent Association (PBA).

This collaborative training emphasized interagency coordination, safety protocols, and technical skills vital for successful water rescue operations. The event underscored the departments’ ongoing commitment to public safety and readiness during extreme weather and flooding incidents.
