Union Fire Company No. 1 Battled House Fire in Lower Oxford Township

Oxford, PA — October 9 — At 11:29 a.m.on Friday, Union Fire Company No.1 and mutual aid departments responded to a reported house fire located in the 200 block of Kimble Road in Lower Oxford Township.


Assistant 21 arrived at the scene and found heavy fire showing from an attached garage, with the fire extending into the first and second floors. Engine 211, which was the first-due engine, deployed an attack line to the first floor. Engine 212, arriving as the second-due engine, stretched an attack line to the second floor.


Firefighters from Kennett, Longwood, West Grove, and Oxford operated on the second floor, opening up concealed areas and conducting searches. The fire was brought under control within 35 minutes of the initial response.


Additional assistance was provided by departments from Cochranville, Christiana, Keystone Valley, Rising Sun, Bart Township, Hockessin, and Medic 94. Responders were assigned various tasks during the incident. No injuries were reported, and crews remained at the scene for approximately three hours.


Bart Township Fire Company and Robert Fulton Fire Company provided coverage for Union Fire Company No. 1’s local response area while its crews were operating at the scene.


The response demonstrated the importance of coordinated operations and mutual aid in supporting fire suppression, search efforts, and incident coverage during a residential structure fire. Multiple companies worked together to address the fire and complete all operations at the property.
