Quick Action Contains Fire Before It Reaches the Attic

— October 1, 2026 — Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Dogwood Circle at approximately 2:30 p.m. after the Lebanon County Department of Emergency Services dispatched Keystone Hook & Ladder Company No. 1 and automatic-aid partners.
Chief 31 arrived and confirmed a fire burning in a garage wall, with flames spreading vertically. Engine 31 arrived and laid a supply line from a hydrant to the property before crews stretched a hose line, opened the wall and extinguished the fire.
Engine 32 handled the hydrant operation, while Tower 31 positioned in front of the building. Additional personnel from Squad 33, Engine 32 and Engine 52 moved forward to assist. Crews also checked the attic for fire extension but found none.
Once the fire was under control and the attic was ventilated, mutual-aid units were released. Firefighters completed the remaining operations and returned to service.
Automatic-aid and supporting agencies listed with the incident included Kutztown Community Fire Company, Newmanstown Volunteer Fire Company, Marion Fire Company of Stouchsburg, South Lebanon Fire Department, Neptune Fire Company and Myerstown First Aid Unit. The dispatch list also included Engines 31, 32 and 34; Tower 31 and Tower 48; Wagon 31; Pumper-Tankers 30 and 32; Squad 33; and additional support units. No injuries or major damage details were included in the original report.
