Adams, N.Y. — October 4 — The Adams Fire Department was dispatched at 12:19 p.m. to 16009 County Route 84 in the Town of Adams for a reported structure fire involving a deep fryer inside a barn. Automatic mutual aid was provided by Belleville and Smithville Fire Departments.

Adams responded with Chiefs 1-0-1, 1-0-2, and 1-0-3, along with Engines 1-4-1 and 1-4-2, Tanker 1-5-1, Rescue 1-6-1, and Truck 1-8-1. Units from Belleville and Smithville Fire Departments also assisted on scene.

Crews arrived to find the fire contained to the area of origin. Firefighters quickly extinguished the remaining flames, preventing further extension to the structure. After thorough checks for hot spots and ventilation, the scene was declared under control. No injuries were reported.
