At 8:37 am on Friday, 10/10/25 the Willimantic Fire Department with Mansfield Squad 107 and Uconn Tower 122 as the FAST were dispatched to the corner of Fairview Street and Grove Street for black smoke coming from a home. WW Dispatch said they were taking multiple calls with reports of a canine still in the residence. Truck 101 cleared a gas call and arrived at 8:38 with a working basement fire.
Car 201 arrived shortly after and transmitted the second alarm which added the Windhams, Columbia Squad 105 FAST with Ambulance 505 and Scotland Ambulance 616. Engine 201 stretched a line to the rear and directly into the walk out basement. Another member from Engine 201 stretched a line through the front door, while Engine 301 established the water supply. South Windham Engine 204 stretched a line to the second floor and removed a canine named Marshmallow. The Willimantic Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
