At 11:02 am on Tuesday, 1/6/26 the Griswold Fire Department with Jewett City Engine & Ladder 156, Voluntown Engine 253 and Tanker 353, Lisbon Tanker 154, Plainfield Engine 195, Taftville FAST and an American Ambulance were dispatched to 131 Browning Road for a detached garage fire. Engines 155 and 156 arrived at 11:15 and both stretched 1.75” hose lines for the fully involved garage.
Crews darkened down the fire with 3 hose lines from the exterior while the garage was collapsing. The Griswold Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
