In September, Cherry City Volunteer Fire Company (VFC) had the unique opportunity to conduct hands-on training in a vacant residential structure. Firefighters practiced essential skills including hose line advancement, VEIS (Vent-Enter-Isolate-Search), search and rescue, vertical ventilation, and rapid intervention team (RIT) operations, among others.
This rare opportunity allowed members to gain valuable real-world experience in a realistic setting, rather than the controlled environment of a concrete training tower. Cherry City VFC extends appreciation to all members who dedicated their time and effort to enhance their skills and readiness through this valuable training.
