Mattress Fire in Brockton Quickly Knocked Down

BROCKTON, MA - Around 5:00 P.M. on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 11th, the Brockton Fire Department struck a box for a possible house fire at 62 N Leydon Avenue. Engine-2 arrived to find light smoke showing from a one-and-a-half-story wood-framed dwelling. Companies found a mattress on fire in a bedroom. One line was stretched and quickly knocked down the fire. The mattress was removed from the building as companies checked for extension. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no injuries were reported.
