Fairfield, VT. October 6 — On Monday, the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire along a rural dirt road, where dry late-summer vegetation fueled the flames.
Engines and brush units arrived quickly, established a water supply, and contained the fire before it could extend into nearby woods.
Firefighters remained on scene to cool hot spots and secure the area. No injuries or structural damage were reported.
Officials emphasized that early autumn brush fires remain a risk due to dry leaves and low humidity and urged caution with outdoor burning and equipment that can spark fires.
