Oct. 2, 2025Deering Fire & Rescue’s Engine 3 was dispatched for mutual aid assistance to Antrim earlier this week.

FF/EMT Stephen Gallagher and EMT Arllen Marie Acevedo, both working per diem, responded when the call came in. For Acevedo, this marked only her second shift with the department — and her second mutual aid fire call. The crew met Engineer Dennis Prive at Donovan Station before heading to the scene.

Once in Antrim, Deering’s team assisted with water supply operations, playing a key role in the water shuttle that kept firefighting efforts sustained.

The department expressed appreciation for the chance to support its neighbors.

“Mutual aid is neighbors helping neighbors,” officials said. “We value every opportunity to work alongside our regional partners.”
