Oct. 3, 2025 — Fitchburg Fire Department is proud to congratulate its newest members — Firefighters Damon Suarez, Dan Motyka, Andras Sevigny, Dan Sanchez, Connor Caisse, Peter Selig, and Sean Donelan — on completing their live burn training.

Live burn training is a critical step in the preparation of new recruits, providing hands-on experience in real fire conditions. During the training, firefighters learn to navigate smoke-filled environments, manage heat, and practice coordinated fire attack and suppression techniques.

“This training is essential to building confidence and skills under realistic conditions,” the department said. “It prepares our new members for the scenarios they will face when responding to emergencies in our community.”

With this milestone complete, the recruits are now better equipped to join their fellow firefighters in protecting lives and property.
