Sept. 12, 2025 — Firefighters responded to a truck fire involving a vehicle owned by Hagar Enterprises, Inc. on Friday. Fortunately, the driver was able to escape unharmed before the fire intensified.

Prior to the arrival of fire apparatus, the Fire Chief redirected traffic away from the scene due to extreme heat and the risk of tire explosions. However, one vehicle occupant refused to comply, instead attempting to remain in place to take a photograph.

“This behavior is unacceptable,” the department said. “Our primary objectives are to address the situation, ensure public safety, and protect our personnel. We urge the public to cooperate with first responders at emergency scenes, as our requests are always motivated by a legitimate concern.”

The fire was brought under control without injuries, but Liberty Fire & Rescue stressed that public safety depends on full cooperation with emergency responders.
