Binghamton, N.Y. — September 29 — On-duty Group C members of the Binghamton Fire Department gathered at Station 3 for a hazardous materials (hazmat) training session. Station 3, which houses the department’s hazmat trailer, served as the ideal site for crews to review equipment and practice response procedures.

Department officials said ongoing hazmat training is essential to maintaining readiness for safely and effectively managing hazardous materials incidents, protecting both the community and first responders.
