Caribou Firefighters Contain Garage Fire on Truman Street

Caribou, ME - The Caribou Fire & Ambulance Department was dispatched to 6 Truman Street for a reported structure fire. On arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke coming from a two-story, stand-alone garage. All occupants had safely evacuated prior to the department’s arrival. Firefighters quickly located and extinguished the fire, successfully preventing further spread. The garage and its contents sustained moderate damage.
During operations, one firefighter was injured and transported to a local emergency department for evaluation and treatment. Crews remained on scene for just over two hours before turning the investigation over to the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office.
