Millinocket, ME - On Tuesday September 23, the Millinocket Fire Department conducted its monthly EMS training session. This year’s training program will take on a new format, following the launch of a partnership between Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) and the department.

Through an agreement supported by the Maine EMS Community Paramedic Grant, EMCC will provide EMS instruction not only to Millinocket Fire Department personnel but also to members of surrounding mutual aid departments.

The first session under this partnership was led by Aiden Koplovsky, Chair of the EMCC EMS Department. Training focused on respiratory emergencies, including difficulty breathing and pneumothorax, as well as the proper use of a bag-valve mask (BVM).

The department anticipates continued growth and development in EMS skills through this collaborative training initiative in the months ahead.
