Firefighters and EMS Join in 5.8-Mile Tribute to 9/11 Fallen

Old Saybrook, Conn. — September 11 —In honor of those who died on September 11, 2001, a number of Old Saybrook Fire Department firefighters and an Old Saybrook Ambulance Association member participated in the department's fifth annual 9/11 Remembrance Walk on Thursday evening. Firefighter John Romano started the walk in 2021. Chaplain Firefighter Geoff Sinibaldo led the group in a prayer on the town green before they left. They went down Main Street to Saybrook Point, then back to the firehouse via the causeway and coastal paths. As part of the tribute, participants walked 5.8 miles in total.
