Wilton, Conn. — September 12 —The Wilton Fire Department honored the 343 firefighters who lost their lives in the 2001 attacks by performing 343 tire flips and climbing 343 stairs in full gear on the 24th anniversary of September 11. The purpose of the tangible tribute was to serve as a symbolic act of respect and remembrance.
