Perth Amboy, N.J. — September 23 — On Tuesday afternoon, Rescue 1 and the Perth Amboy Fire Department Dive Team arrived at Thompson Park at 1507 hours to help the Monroe Township Fire Departments recover a submerged pickup truck. The car had drifted into deeper water more than 200 feet from the launch ramp.  The use of specialized equipment and protocols ensured the recovery was conducted safely. No one was hurt, and the car was successfully removed without any more problems, according to department reports.
