Three Injured in Read Street Crash; Firefighters Use Jaws of Life for Extrication

Attleboro, MA - The Attleboro Fire Department responded Thursday evening to a serious motor vehicle crash on Read Street that left three people injured.


At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 25, emergency crews were dispatched to the area of 75 Read Street following reports of a collision with possible entrapment. Upon arrival, firefighters found two heavily damaged vehicles.


Firefighters assessed the occupants for injuries and used the Jaws of Life to extricate one individual. A man in his 20s was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries. Two women, ages 17 and 55, were taken to Sturdy Hospital.


The roadway was closed for about 45 minutes while crews worked at the scene. An ambulance from the North Attleborough Fire Department provided mutual aid.


The Attleboro Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
