Atlantic Air One Responds to Highway Motorcycle Wreck Near Mile Marker 11.8 on I-80

 Hope, NJ - A motorcyclist was airlifted to a regional trauma center Wednesday morning following a serious highway crash along Interstate 80 westbound.

At approximately 10:47 a.m. on September 23, 2026, Station 38 (Hope Volunteer Fire Department) and Rescue 46 were dispatched to Route 80 near mile marker 11.8 westbound following reports of a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.

Upon evaluating the rider's condition and the mechanism of injury, emergency responders requested an aeromedical helicopter evacuation. Firefighters from Hope secured the highway corridor and established a landing zone directly along the interstate for an inbound Atlantic Air One medical helicopter.

Flight crews stabilized the injured patient on scene before completing an emergent airlift to a nearby trauma hospital for advanced medical treatment. Fire and rescue units assisted with highway safety, debris clearance, and traffic control throughout the aeromedical operation.
